Yamaha’s Advantage in MotoGP with New M1 Engine

Yamaha is utilizing MotoGP concession rules to develop a new M1 engine, taking advantage of private testing and engine development opportunities not available to other constructors. Honda has also benefited from these concessions, with Luca Marini making the most of the testing program. Yamaha has struggled with engine power and is working with engine engineer Luca Marmorini to improve performance. Quartararo was set to test a new engine specification after the Portuguese GP, but poor weather conditions delayed the evaluation. It remains to be seen if the new engine will be used in upcoming races.
