Argentina Grand Prix in Serious Danger

The Argentina Grand Prix, scheduled for April, is in danger of being cancelled due to budget cuts implemented by the new government under President Milei. This policy is affecting the funding received by the event from the national government, the provincial government, and private promoters. Most teams suspect the event will not take place, which would leave a three-week gap in the calendar before the Americas Grand Prix in Austin. The addition of the Balaton Park circuit as a reserve is unlikely to fill the gap, and the Kazakhstan Grand Prix is also in question for 2024. The cancelation of the Argentina GP would continue a difficult few years for the event, which has faced challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, freight delays, and a fire in 2021.
