IMSA Recap: Second Hour Updates

Sebastien Bourdais took the lead at the start of the second hour, overtaking Ricky Taylor with ease. The Penske Porsche 963 of Tandy charged up to fourth but was passed by Richard Westbrook in the customer JDC-Miller Motorsports 963. Steven Thomas crashed heavily, interrupting the race after the second hour. Louis Deletraz then led the way in the #40 WTRA Acura due to pit strategy. At the restart, Dixon and Dane Cameron battled for P1. In the LMP2 category, Nico Pino and Pietro Fittipaldi quickly overtook George Kurtz at the start of the second hour. Pato O’Ward then leads after the third hour, followed closely by Toby Sowery. In the GTD category, Andrea Caldarelli passed the Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F to take the lead, but the Pfaff Motorsports McLaren 720S of Marvin Kirchoffer emerged as the frontrunner. Alexander Sims and Davide Rigon battled over third place. By the end of the third hour, the GTD class was in the middle of a pitstop cycle, with Sims technically leading.
