Sergio Sette Camara Suffers Battery Explosion in Mexico City E-Prix

Sergio Sette Camara was unable to start the Mexico City E-Prix season-opener due to a battery issue causing an explosion and smoke from his car. ERT, the team, is working with the FIA and battery supplier WAE to investigate the incident. The FIA is confident it was an isolated incident and assures that safety measures in Formula E are being closely monitored. Sette Camara expressed concerns about the lack of communication from the FIA but was reassured after being updated on the situation. He put in an impressive qualifying performance for the Diriyah E-Prix and despite finishing in 9th place, was satisfied with the result, highlighting the team’s difficulty in converting good qualifying performances into good race results.
