The Future of the Spanish GP: A Move to Madrid’s Semi-Street Circuit

F1 fans unsatisfied with the recent addition of street circuits. Barcelona has been replaced with a semi-street circuit in Madrid near Barajas airport. Seven of 24 venues are classified as street circuits – such as Miami- and it is part of Liberty Media’s strategy. However, F1 is focusing on balance between permanent venues and street circuits. Monza’s efforts to modernise align with this strategy, and F1 is also working with promoters of traditional venues.
